Blogging tips

Write a strong headline

Most of the blogs on this page get shared using only their headline. Maximise the amount of people looking at your content by writing a strong, concise and accurate headline. Don’t go over the top- it needs to clearly explain what is in the post, but try to make it sound interesting and worth reading.

Add an image

An image adds something visual to your post and makes it stand out. It will also look more inviting on gallery pages such as the front page here.

You could add an image you have taken, or find one online. Make sure you are respecting people’s copyright. Use a website like Compfight or Creative Commons Search to find images people haveĀ licensedĀ for re-use. Make sure you put a link back to the original page you got the image from.

For more info on Creative Commons and what you can and can’t reproduce on the web, watch the video here.

Sign your post

Our system doesn’t pull in the names of authors due to a technical limitation. So that people know the post is yours, why not sign it at the bottom. You could make your name a link back to your twitter profile, or flavours.me page.
